Spring Colors are Comming into Focus

I took advantage of the beautiful weather last Saturday and went for a walk. I took these pictures just down the road from where I live. It seems like the dreams of spring have become reality. I'm not a fan of hot summer weather so now is the time for me to enjoy the outdoors.
I was trying to find a nice balance between bokeh and depth of field and I wanted the colors and light to tell a lot of the story.

Hi James,

These are absolutely lovely. I really enjoy studying your work as regards depth of field and admire your spirit regarding experimentation and the sheer joy it is so obvious you take in your artwork.

The first one looks like Santa parked his sleigh in order to enjoy the beautiful spring blossoms! Very nice.

I especially like the last photo! The color of the little wildflowers stands out beautifully against the simple background of bokeh. I like how you changed the focus for each. I hope you enjoy every one of these beautiful spring days to the fullest.

Do you know the french expression "Avoir le nez au ras des pâquerettes" ?("to have the nose at the same level than the daisies"). It means "not to see the whole thing", not to have a complete view". Nothing to do with you. But when I saw the last picture, words came to my mind, and I thought that for once, it was the best way to see the world!

I think Pa. and Serbia are at the same level of spring. I'm still waiting for an explosive burst of color.

As usual, love your photos.

Great weather and a beatiful scenery to experiment with focus, I like all the results sharp and not. Blurred backgrounds are perfect for some images, I was just trying myself for your next reflection weekend.

Nice play with the depth of field and focus, James.

«Louis» will join Weekend Reflections Saturday.

I would love to take pictures with different angle as you do.It's perfect!
I loved the second and the last one.
I hope this weekend we can get a sunny day, so I can go for a walk as well looking for some flowers.
I also hope to be better of this awful jetlag. This time I'm suffering much more than the others trips.I could not understand...all the time tired and it's impossible to eat.But I guess this weekend everthing will be fine.
Thanks for these magical pictures!

I guess that sleigh isn't going anywhere for a while! Funny how 'weeds' can be so pretty.

I like these photos alot. You have really gotten some interesting shots with the varying depths of field.

You would not like it down here in Jackson. Our summers can be brutal and I have a feeling it's going to be a hot one this year!

You use the blur so well. I really like the low angle view with the dandelions in focus against the blurred background.

Activation of the earth is handed down to me through your photography.

It is a sign of the spring really...

Some people go at lengths to crawl, bend and what not, just to get the desired shot. Great DOF. Its "bokehlicious" too!

Glad the snow went away!
